Bob Bojanek was nominated and won the Impact Award from the Central New York Business Journal Non-profit Awards sponsored by M&T Bank!
Bob was nominated due to his dedication and impact on our community during the pandemic. He has organized and leads the collaboration of multiple non-profit organizations to benefit community members throughout the Mohawk Valley. Recognizing the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bob launched a monthly food-distribution event, “Community Coming Together,” to expand food security services to community members in the region. He recruited over 70 volunteers from groups and organizations such as the Project Fibonacci® Foundation, St. John the Baptist Church, Catholic Daughters, and the Rome Rescue Mission for this purpose. Each month in conjunction with the Food Bank of Central New York, he led volunteers in distributing food supplies to over 300 needy families. Bob’s efforts, on-going since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, have resulted in over 65 tons of food distributed to date. The program he continues to lead serves the needy and underserved in Rome as well as Blossvale, Canastota, Camden, Boonville, Lee, Wampsville, Westmoreland, Westdale, Vernon, Frankfort, Marcy, New Hartford, Remsen, and Oriskany. Bob has been an inspiration to us all, making a positive difference in the lives of so many throughout our communities, especially those that need a helping hand during this pandemic.
